Welcome to the first ever Tempus Fugit Blog Spotlight.

This “once every so often” feature will showcase a blog with which I am particularly taken. I may be drawn to its content, the quality of its writing, the liveliness of its commenters, or the design of the site.

The first blog for the Blog Spotlight is Mis 3 quarks (My 3 quarks).

Mis 3 quarks
Two people, two trees, three quarks

As I don’t know much Spanish, I cannot comment on the quality of the writing. The design, however, leaps across language borders with its muted tones and clean layout. The image atop the page is haunting. The silouetes of two figures on the right are mirrored on the left by the silouetes of two trees, and all four are standing against a grey-blue sky. The blog entries make great use of small floated images to compliment the text. Hipopótamos gigantes indeed.

I really wish I spoke Spanish… the categories for the site are Antropología, Astronomía, Genética, Medicina, Paleontología, and Tecnología. The only way those topics could be any more interesting is if he added “Metafísica” and “Explosiones.”

Go give Mis 3 quarks a visit, especially if you speak Spanish!

Update: Blog appears to have been taken offline.
