The Calm Before the Fury

It is eerily calm outside.

A gentle 6 mph wind is caressing the trees.

Perhaps I’ll take a bath!

A bathtub being filled with water
For drinking, silly

Farewell, random pile of broken-up cement.

A pile of rocks sitting a few feet from the intercoastal waterway
Reasons to stay inside, Exhibit 'A'

A gazebo, over the intercoastal waterway
I don't think she's gonna make it

VH1 has nothing on me. I’m the one who is really saving the music.

A piano, a bass guitar, an amplifier, and a violin share space on a countertop, away from water
Think of the music, man!

Somehow I doubt “the kids” are going to make it, either.

A fountain with two children holding an umbrella, as if bracing for the storm
This umbrella will save us!

Appologies for my cheap attempts at humor. It’s how I deal with this tense period of anticipation.
