Jayson Lives
Apparently getting rid of Jayson Blair wasn’t enough to save the New York Times from a wave of self-destructive misquotes, invent-a-quotes, and outright lies.
The view, a staple of the Bush administration’s public statements before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, has since been discredited by the Sept. 11 commission, which concluded that Iraq and Al Qaeda had “no close collaborative relationship.”
New York Times: Pentagon Reportedly Skewed C.I.A.’s View of Qaeda Tie
Of course, the 9/11 commission never said that Iraq and Al Qaeda had “no close collaborative relationship.” In fact, those four words never once appear in the 9/11 commission’s report.
