WordPress creator Matt Mullenweg said recently that he was moving to San Francisco, which didn’t come as a surprise to those who knew he was strongly considering it. What I did not know was the exact reason for his move. Matt has gotten a job with C|Net!

The news was broken in an article in the Houston Press entitled The Blog Age which gives an in-depth personal look at the young Houstonian.

To answer the question that is burning on the minds of all WordPress users: yes, he will continue to work on WP. In fact, it is stipulated in his agreement with C|Net that a portion of his paid time on the job will be used for work on WordPress!

I wish Matt all the best in his endeavors and congratulate C|Net on a valuable addition to their family. He has a good head on his shoulders and is really an all-around nice person.
