Ohio Math
To all the whiny liberals who won’t admit that Bush won until all of Ohio’s provisional ballots have been counted, I have some math for you to ponder.
Ohio has approximately 150,000 provisional ballots. Provisional ballots are cast when someone isn’t on the books, but thinks they should be. If it turns out they are at the wrong polling place, their vote gets thrown out. If they weren’t registered, it gets thrown out. The only way it doesn’t get thrown out is if for some reason, the poll workers made a mistake, and the voter actually was on the rolls for that precinct. Approximately 10-25 percent of provisional ballots will turn into actual legal votes.
Assuming that it is 25%, that translates into 37,000 votes. Kerry is currently getting 48.72% of the vote in Ohio, but we’ll be generous and say that he gets 50% of provisional votes. That translates into 18,500 votes for Kerry.
As of right now, Kerry trails Bush by 138,866 votes. That leaves him 120,366 votes short.
The only way Kerry wins is if 100% of provisional ballots are ruled to be legal votes, and 92.58% of them are votes for Kerry.
In. Your. Dreams.
It’s over.
