Here here! During the Cold War, it could be argued that aid to foreign countries was a sort of gesture to keep those country's governments from falling to Communism, and thus, worth it in the long run. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, I've wondered why we give aid to other countries for any reason, tsunami or anything. I'm with you: I'm all for the American people voluntarily supporting humanitarian aid organizations such as the Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders, but don't force every single taxpayer to chip in by raiding the treasury!
