I’m Taking Your Dollar
Kofi Annan has decided to take strong action against the former head of the Oil for Food program, a program that has been rocked by scandal ever since evidence turned up that indicated billions of dollars had been stolen from it. Annan has decided to suspend Benon Sevon, and dock his pay by… one dollar. No joke. Technically, Benon Sevon is already retired.
Also suspended, and without pay, is Joseph Stephanides, head of the U.N. Security Council Affairs Division. Mr. Stephanides is scheduled to retire in 5 months.
