Black/Veteran, What’s the Difference?

Listening to an old clip of David Brock, who is in charge of the Media Matters blog, on the radio with Al Franken’s O’PissingMatch Factor, I was introduced to this mind-bogglingly stupid quote from Gregory Kane in the Baltimore Sun.

[...] preferential jobs and admissions for blacks are no more reparations than similar preferences given to veterans.

It’s nice to know that Mr. Kane puts “being black” on the same level as “having served in your country’s military.”
