The Roberts Nomination
Bush nominated John Roberts for the Supreme Court last night.
The consensus seems to be that he’s brilliant and one of the best litigators in the country. Some in the far-right and the far-left are moaning about his lack of a paper trail.
Conservatism is sweeping the nation, we have a fully functioning alternative media, we’re ticked off and ready to avenge Robert Bork . . . and Bush nominates a Rorschach blot.
Ann Coulter: Souter in Roberts Clothing
Way to make it all about politics, Coulter. We wouldn’t want a judge who is merely a good judge, now would we?
Basically, what the extremists on the left and on the right want to know is: “how will he rule on our issues?” They want to know if he’s a hard-core conservative or a moderate conservative. They want to know exactly how he’d decide if Roe vs. Wade came up before him. When that question comes up in his confirmation hearings (you know it will), I hope, and suspect, that he won’t answer. Something tells me that this guy knows the difference between a judge and a judicial activist.
