[...] This article in the Observer has changed my mind about the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes in London. When this happened, many things were just unknown, and I cautioned that your opinion might change as some of the question marks disappeared. Mine has. Now an Observer investigation has raised fresh questions about the death of de Menezes, whose killing is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission. The Observer has discovered that a key element of the investigation will be scrutiny of a delay in calling an armed team to arrest de Menezes, which meant he had already entered the station by the time the officers arrived.
I find this interesting, and don't know how it will pan out either way...

This article, '<a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4720979.stm">shooting officer sent on holiday</a>', implies that there were three plain-clothes officers, and doesn't discuss there being any more officers at all. Is this the whole story? or merely some partially complete facts?

The same article also states that one officer is already on holiday, and that another officer has been sent on holiday - leading me believe that two officers were directly involved the shooting.

What's more, I've used london underground a bit, and it is possible to proceed through the barriers very quickly indeed - on inserting your card, it is whipped out of your hand and quickly appears in a slot on the otherside of the barrier, and the barriers do not even have time to close behind the person in front of you if you follow closely enough behind (this is by design, I believe).

Obviously, the three points above are not conclusive in anyway whatsoever.

We will have to see what results... Today, they've put out a <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4726617.stm">call for more witnesses</a>.

I wonder how much of this event was caught on CCTV? ...and, if so, whether we will ever get to see it?

When a witness comes forward and says the police officers actually identified themselves, then I'll believe it. So far all the witness accounts have indicated that the police did not identify themselves when they confronted him.
