Close Call!
Hey, I just want to let you all know that I’ve read the documents released by Patrick Fitzgerald very carefully, and it looks that I, like Karl Rove, will escape indictment! When I heard the Associated Press report that Karl Rove had escaped indictment, my first thought was “my God… what about me? Could I be indicted?” I mean, you never know right? For all I knew, Karl Rove was the only person in American who escaped indictment, and the rest of us were going to jail! After reading the documents, however, it seems that Scooter Libby was the only person indicted, so the rest of us are safe. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! There were some tense moments there. The Associated Press must have just mentioned that Rove escaped indictment because they’re good friends with him and wanted to give him advance notice before letting the rest of us Americans know that we were safe.
Personally, I’m keeping my lawyers on retainer just in case. Because there was this one time down at the corner bar when I got a bit tipsy on Jaegermeister and started talking to this sinister looking fellow in a black fedora.
I mean, who knows what I told the guy.
I’m hearing (through leakers in this confidential leak investigation) that FBI agents will be out to talk to my girlfriend, my neighbors and my cat tomorrow.
Whew! That’s a load off my mind!

Reporting like that is a pathetic attempt to perpetuate a “controversy” that has run it’s course. Enemies of the Bush administration have a vested interested in seeing this thing drag on, but to reasonable observers it’s clearly over. [...]
