Truck Sponsor
While driving home on I-75 last night, I got myself a “truck sponsor.” Here’s the idea: find an 18-wheeler that is going about as fast as you want to go. Get behind him, and stay there. First off, he will have a radar detector. If he slows down, you know to do the same. Second, he’s first in line if you come upon a speed trap. Third, he’s a bigger target for the radar gun. Fourth, cops are more likely to pull him over instead of you (18-wheelers pose much more of a threat to public safety when they speed… my car was designed to zip along at 90mph, but big trucks weren’t).
My father taught me that little bit of interstate driving wisdom, and it hasn’t failed me yet.
