When Leaking Isn’t Leaking
The White House faced a barrage of questions Friday over the timing of President Bush’s decision to declassify intelligence that was then leaked to the press by Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff.
Um… when did “leak” stop meaning “to disclose without authorization or official sanction?” If it was declassified, it wasn’t leaked, it was revealed.
Also keep in mind, this isn’t news, it became public three years ago.
The Irregular Times also has a nice take on Bush’s declassification of the Plame info here. Very worrisome that the Bush regimes tactics parallel those of another highly unethical Republican administration, Nixon’s. Tempus Fugit has anarticle on this as well. Dan Gillmor has an article about the leaks on his blog. Hammer of Truth has one as well.
