Saddam Executed

I made a haiku for Saddam’s capture. It’s only fitting that his execution (or was it a whacking?) should be similarly commemorated:

Out with the old thug
Only to bring in the new
Feels like deja vu

And in less poetic words: I’ve seen animals put down with more dignity. Yes, he was a monster. Yes, he was a genocidal tyrant who used chemical weapons of mass destruction on his own people. Yes, if anyone deserved to die, he did. But a botched hanging (guys, I think the knot goes in the back) by a bunch of shouting, terrorist-supporting Shiites in a dark and dirty room with the video posted on the Internet for the world to see only underlines how screwed their country is.

Quick, someone remix the video with a “Mission Accomplished” banner hanging above him as he falls.

the noose goes to teh side, to break the neck, versus strangulate.

The world is now a better place.

Lumberwhack is correct (albeit spelling-impaired): (judicial) hangings, such as the one administered to Saddam, are intended to snap the neck and induce either instantaneous paralysis or unconsciousness instead of killing the person by way of strangulation.

the video is fuckin pervers. Why are they filming the death of saddam? Its enough to know that he’s a dead man.

The worst is sadly yet to come. Hundreds of innocent people (most of them maybe american) could be killed. That’s really crap…

I agree, i dont think it will make much difference. People outside the western world must look at us sometimes and wonder what we are about…
