We Own a House

Sarah and I bought a house. It just closed this morning. We’re very excited.

Lowe’s and Home Depot suddenly have a lot more appeal to me. To use a groan-worthy software analogy, my living space is now open source. I can modify it to suit my purposes.

    Congratulations!
    (We are getting old.)

Julia and I were really close, but had to back out. We are back to looking in this market, that is among the three most expensive in Canada, but no where near the costs of many of the major US cities.

  2. Lowe’s and Home Depot are your new best friends. Do all that you can to get the 10% off coupons you can get when moving/buying a new house.

    Congratulations.

  3. If I just signed over my paychecks to Home Depot, I think I’d come out ahead.

Then add Home Depot to your Favorites, because you’ll be at their site downloading stuff every weekend from now on.

  5. Congrats!

Home ownership is an amazing adventure. Welcome to the ride.

It’s amazing how owning a home increases your awareness of sites like HomeDepot and Lowe’s. Pretty soon you’ll be judging other peoples property, estimating values, and shopping at Home and Garden :)

    Congratulations to both of you!

I should be experiencing the joys of home ownership for the first time next week too… due to move in to my new place on the 12th, all going well! (Fingers crossed).

A trip to Ikea may well be in order soon…

  8. The amazing cleaner Ann Wilson and her associate came and cleaned the whole house top to bottom, removing five years of dog and filth. Friends are busy too: Mark Jaquith marries Sarah in Florida. (They are also recent first time home owners). Sunday, May 6th, move part 2, thank you: Landon Cunningham (brother) Ryan Emperingham (cousin), Kenny Doskotch (cousin), Jeremy Watts, Chris Reid, Chris Robb, Andrew D’estrube, Dylan (brother), Donna Cunningham (mother), Lois Budd (mother), and

Congratulations! I can imagine your excitement. I haven’t had the luck until now. I blame to the fact that houses are probably more expensive in Germany. ;o)

Never mind buying your first home, try any home. The “improvements” can add up quickly. Especially . Good luck in the future

  12. Boy you hit a thread about the box stores all of a sudden becoming popular. It’s always fun to fix things up. I’m in the garden – actually the shop fixing up my garden furniture. That keeps me going.

  13. Sam says:

Yea me too.. The garden is the fun part of buying a new house. Mainly cause you have to start from stratch. Oh and id like to let you into http://www.discountspies.com/home-depot-coupons/ . And which do you dig? Wood or metal furniture in the garden?
