Wedding Preparations
I’m finally feeling like we’re on top of our wedding preparations. Which is good, because the big day is coming up soon. We’re over budget, but still within reason. Most people we talk to are incredulous that we’ve kept our costs as low as we have. It wasn’t without effort of course… saving money takes work. We’ve had to spend a lot of time considering what is important to us and what isn’t. Monogrammed napkins for an extra $400? Not so much. A photographer that allows us to have a royalty free license to use the photographs as we wish? Yeah, worth the extra cost.
We have a website. And before you ask, it was Sarah’s idea for the footer. 
Sarah tells me that it is inappropriate to include registry information in the invitation, but no such prohibition exists for a wedding website. Say no more. Shameless “buy Mark and Sarah pots and pans” links contained within.
I can’t find my ring. It’s not lost so much as misplaced. I should get on that.
$400 dollars! Shoot. $5 for some markers and $5 for some napkins.

Want to know something funny? Since I am trying to marry a non-American girl, I had to put a REQUEST in writing to my commanding officer ( I’m military ) It has been two months now and he still hasn’t said yes.

Where should the code go? I’ve tried it in my Index Template, 404 page and Sidebar with no success. The Index Template and 404 pages don’t load at all when the code is in there, while only the content div loads but not the Sidebar when the code is put into the Sidebar. The only time anything appears is when I put it into a Text Widget, but it appears on the home page with no values for what the search is for and stuff. I’m sure there’s some user error involved – here’s the code I’m trying to use:

Wow, I didn’t even think about royalty-free photographs. I took some amateur shots at my college roommate’s wedding which ended up being a good thing. The hired photographer was a hack and didn’t want to take any of the shots they asked for, just what he though “were best”. The photographer tried to crowd me out whenever there were photos being taken which I can understand to a point, but he just didn’t make for a very pleasant experience all-around. Hope yours is better!

I wish I had known about that website before I planned my daughters wedding. We had to do it all by ourselves. You looking into getting a wedding planner, but we could not find one that fit us and we felt we had the same vision. And then, they all wanted to charge an arm and a leg. We could not afford it. So we all did it by ourselves. Yes, the wedding went off without a hitch, but I gained a few more grey hairs in the process. Ok, maybe more than a few. If we had known about that site before, we could have saved ourselves a lot of stress. Not to mention the money we could have saved. Why do people not just gather all the information into one easy to use website? I mean everything. Yes, you could even charge for it. Like a charge to use he site. It would certainly be worth it.

From my own experience when I was asked to be a best man, I thought yes what an honor but then, oh no, the speech. Luckily I could write poetry, so I wrote a poem and also luckily I hit the jackpot, it went down a storm, it was perfect and I had accolades all night from lots of guests and photographers. So I created my own website to help other guys and it has been very successful and I am so lucky to have had so much superb feedback from guys who were clearly quite nervous.
The beauty of a personalized poem is the fact it is personal, you can read it, and given time to practice, it can be delivered in a meaningful way and last but not least, you don’t have to let on it wasn’t you who wrote it!! Royalty free photos? I tell you, if you mention the word Wedding, most places will add an extra 200% wedding tax and find all these “extra” features that you can have (which are not a problem if you are doing family photos, kids photos etc.) I think I am in the wrong business.
A wedding is a time of joy and laughter, and there is no better way to express this than through a wedding speech. Many people find that having to give a speech is akin to standing on the ledge of a forty story building with nothing between you and the ground some four hundred or so feet below. However, if handled properly wedding speeches need not be the machine of torture that we expect it to be.
And this applies not only to the person who has to say the speech, but also to the speaker’s audience, the poor captive guests. If you have a good speech in hand, and are reasonably confident of your delivery of the speech, you can turn a night — or day — of dreary wedding speeches into something to be marveled at and enjoyed for years to come.

Congratulations on your wedding and best wishes!!! I noticed that most couples really don’t mind the extra cost or the amount of money they spend for their wedding. Perhaps the bliss is enough for them to ignore the hefty amount of money they will more likely spend for such a once-in-a-lifetime event.
