Who said it?

Identify the speaker of this quote (no cheating!):

I believe it is every American’s duty to contribute something to the common good

Was it (A) Barack Obama, (B) Hillary Clinton, or (C) Jimmy Carter?

Try (D)… John McCain.

Now you see why I’m apathetic about the choice between Obama and McCain. They have the same anti-individualism stance. McCain’s “Country First” slogan is 100% accurate and 100% frightening. How sad that both major candidates’ slogans (”Country First”, “Yes We Can”) are statements of collective ability or collective priorities. Neither one values individualism.

One Response to “Who said it?”

  1. Rob says:

I think you hit right on the head exactly what is wrong with the Republican party. They’ve taken the Republican brand and made it only marginally distinguishable from the Democrat brand.

People are wondering why they should vote for pseudo-Democrats instead of actual Democrats.

Even so, I think McCain would do far less damage than Obama. Though I hate having to defend the guy (who I think is basically a good person, policy differences aside) by saying he’s the lesser of two evils.
