Wouldn’t it be nice if your OS X bootable SuperDuper-created backup disk could be mounted right before the nightly backup and unmounted right after to reduce wear and tear?

I do this with Time Machine Scheduler:

    http://www.klieme.com/TimeMachineScheduler.html

It not only allows you to adjust the interval for Time Machine backups, but will also mount the drive and then unmount it when the backup is complete.

Now I only have to hear my backup drive spinning twice a day (the backup interval I have specified).
