This plugin will notify commenters when their comments are caught as spam or put in the moderation queue. As requested by Eric Meyer.

Instructions

Click the link above and then click “Download” to download the plugin as a .php file. Upload this file to your wp-content/plugins/ directory. Activate it from within the WordPress admin interface.

The default notification is a JS alert. Also included is a notification method that embeds a paragraph into your comments form. Edit the plugin (down at the bottom) to switch methods (or use your own).

Versions

  • Version 0.2 Make sure that someone submitting two comments in a row (first moderated, 2nd approved) doesn’t get told their 2nd comment was moderated
  • Version 0.1 Initial release

    interesting. i’ve often wished for this, although i’ve always wondered if this might encourage spammers to try again. being that it’s javascript, it shouldn’t but it’s interesting.
