Enforce www. Preference

About

This plugin will help preserve your permalinks by enforcing your no-www or yes-www preference (http://example.com/ vs. http://www.example.com/) and will strip off index.php from the ends of URIs.

Download

Instructions

  1. Download and unzip
  2. Upload enforce-www-preference.php to /wp-content/plugins/
  3. Activate from within the WordPress admin interface

Versions

  • Version 1.3 Changed the name, and moved to my /code/ section
  • Version 1.2 Initial release

    when i tried to install the plugin, my site went down and i got the error that the redirect cannot be completed…infinite redirect or something…please suggest…thanks,

    perhaps verify with your web host that it supports mod_rewrite?

    Great Plugin. But where in the WP-Admin can I decide if I want to see the site with or without www?

    @Willi, I think it depends of what you have typed in site options as link to your blog - if your main link is without www then it will force use it always without http://www... if you have www included, then… :) That’s what I understood LOL

    To www or not to www - that is not a seo question . Surprisingly, not many people are aware of what I am talkin about. Though it pretty obvious from google.

    This leaves the use of this plugin very irrelevant. Sorry guys .. but I am honest.

    Well, i still like the plugin however it’s also good to use 301 Redirect ;) it’s just simple code line that you need to add to your .htaccess file and all done - no more problems with www or no-www :D
