Whaa?!
So you thought that the current gas prices were the highest ever? Technically, they are the highest dollar amount, but people seem to have forgotten about inflation and the increase in fuel efficiency.

True, we’ve not yet broken the all-time record for gas prices after economic adjustments for inflation, etc., but “Gas Prices Are Low” is going just a bit too far.
I’m paying nearly $2.00/gallon but can remember when gasoline was under $1.00/gallon at the same stations about 5 years ago.
Yeah, they are only low if you are comparing them to 1980 or 1960. They are certainly higher than they were in 1990 or 1995.
It made for a good attention-grabbing headline. 😉
I’m not by any means happy about having to shell out $1.95 a gallon, but it certainly could be worse.
🙁 I believe gas price is high. I remember when Ronald Reagan was in office gas price went down. Then when George Bush SR came in office the gas price when up.Then when Clinton in office came it went down to $1.00/gallon in 1997. Now in 2004 gas is at $1.78/gal. I believe George Bush as the power and influence to drive the gas price down to $1.00/gal again. When the gas price goes up inflation will go up. To make my claim accurate I need to find a website of the gas prices from 1980 to present.
I can remember filling gas at 19.9 cents per gal at pumps in and around Elk River and Anoka Minn, in 1969 and 1970.
In 1952.
Mr Bush needs to support the people and money that got him into office, it had to have been the pledge he made first before the pledge of Pres !!!
