The 9/11 Investigative Committee was intended to be on a fact-finding mission. Many have called it a witch hunt. I say that the Committee thinks it is a witch hunt, but really all they are doing is beating a dead horse.
Everyone knew that Islamo-terrorist groups wanted nothing more than to inflict damage on the United States. No one knew exactly how they planned to inflict this damage in September of 2001. The insinuation that any American could have prevented 9/11 is sickening.
The bottom line: We didn’t know. We should have known. We should work to see that in the future, we do know. It gains us nothing to beat the issue to death in the vain hope of gaining some sort of closure.
