Me
My name is Mark Jaquith. I’m one of the lead developers of WordPress, the web publishing system that is both free and priceless. I am also a freelance provider of web services, specializing in (yes, you guessed it) WordPress services. I live in Brandon, FL with my wife Sarah, two sons, and three cats. We got married on May 5th, 2007. I love her to death.
The Site
Tempus Fugit is my personal blog. I pretty much write whatever I want here, and I welcome your comments! Read the rules if you are unsure as to how to behave when leaving comments.
Rules
Please respect my rules while visiting my site.
- Only post comments under the entry to which they correspond.
- If comments for an entry have been closed, you may contact me via e-mail, but do not attempt to post a comment under another entry.
- Be polite.
- Seriously: no flaming. Lively discussion is encouraged, but personal attacks against me, my family, my friends, or other commenters are forbidden.
- Do not use my comments to inform me of trivial site design or accessibility issues, unless the entry was about that issue. If you notice a broken link, or a design flaw in the site, or if you are handicapped and have a suggestion as to how I might improve your access, do not hesitate to e-mail me.
Depending on the severity of your offense, I may edit your comment, delete your comment, ban you from commenting, ban your town from commenting, ban your country from commenting, or report you to your ISP.
I reserve the right to change or add to these rules at any time. This is my site, so my freedom of speech trumps yours. That being said, if you are well-behaved and follow these rules, your free speech will not be silenced or altered.
Disclosures
The following disclosures should be taken into consideration when reading anything I’ve written:
- I have a close relationship with Automattic as I collaborate with many of their employees when working on the open source WordPress project. I worked a small amount of hours for Automattic in 2006 on readme.txt parsing code for the plugin directory. We have no ongoing financial arrangement. I receive a small amount of complementary credits on WordPress.com to test out some of their premium features.
- I worked for b5media doing full time consulting from June, 2007 until March, 2009. I did part time consulting from March, 2009 until October, 2009.
- I did part time consulting for Giga Omni Media from 2009-2010.
- I am the technical lead on Hot Air, and have been since its launch in 2006.
