My host, Site5, implemented Ruby on Rails, so I got to play around with it a bit. I’ve never coded a line of Ruby in my life, so it was slow going. That said, I very much got the impression that once you get past the initial learning curve, it’s easy. scaffold
is definitely cool. If you haven’t seen the videos where they set up a blogging app in ~5 minutes, you’re missing out.
Unfortunately, Site5’s support of Ruby on Rails is only experimental. It’s slow as death, as they haven’t yet configured it to run using FastCGI. I plan on looking into it more when they do so.
