We were in Venice, Florida, visiting Sarah’s mother, and I noticed that the sun was setting beautifully at the beach. We raced the half mile or so to Venice beach, but had missed the sunset by maybe 30 seconds. I was disappointed, but I didn’t give up, and almost immediately a girl went running past me, up the shoreline. I quickly snapped this shot, which I think came out nicely. You can see the uncropped version at full resolution on Flickr. Check out the ISO speed: 5600! Mind-blowing to me how usable it is, despite an insanely high ISO speed. I love my D700.
